Working at A/W 2012 Maria Grachvogel show. 17th Feb 2012

After travelling First Class, consuming all of the complimentary tea an biscuits I possibly could, I had arrived at London St Pancreas station. I had to be at the Savoy Hotel for 10am, so I got there a little bit early. The Savoy is such a beautiful hotel, with the decor very old english and classic. Where the actual show was held, was in the same room that the end scene in Notting Hill was filmed, with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant ... how cool. After prepping backstage, doing general set up duties I was given my role for front of house. "Manning" a certain area of the seats and ushering the guests (buyers, press and celebrities) to their correct place.
Luckily I got to see the whole show, from the front row itself. The collection was very old Hollywood glamour. Elegance was a foundation throughout the whole show, using draping and silk to make the silhouette of the garments look magnificent on each of the models. Fresh gold tones where used, with pop elements of jewel palettes, further enhancing the 1920's glamour feel. Favourites for me were the floaty, dropped waisted, backless jumpsuits. It was something I could envision myself wearing and feeling a million dollars in.
